Perfect! My friend had her much desired baby in October. She and her husband went through fertility treatments for a very long time before her little man was born. For Christmas I put together a box of books for him along with a list of his favorite books by age. Boynton’s Barnyard Dance was my son’s favorite for his first 5 years. Couldn’t find it locally so ordered it from Amazon. Just have her the basket and she cried!!! Loved, loved, loved it!!!
Sandra Boynton is my favorite for littles!! I bought this as a baby shower gift as typically everyone is buying clothes for the new baby and I wanted to make sure this little one didn't miss out on the fun of these books!! I read them to my son 20 years ago and he LOVED them! They were short enough and durable enough to get years of use. It's been 20 years and I think I still know this by heart!!
When my Granddaughter, Raine, was about 2 I started reading to her. OH HOW WE LOVED THIS LITTLE BOOK! She was so cute hanging around with me in my apartment. Her first word was "BOOK" and she would go over to the bookcase and point to this one, letting me know it was time to read it. I don't know how many times I read this little book to her and sang to her and she laughed and laughed. Now I buy a coipy for every baby that comes into my life.
This book does not need anymore glowing reviews but I wanted to say that this is my favorite of her books. I bought this for our 15 month old at Christmas time and we all love to hear this book. My seven year old requests this book. We all try to do the moves from the book as I read it (or rather sing it). I suppose this is more like a song than a story. As always with her books the illustrations are charming and perfect for little book lovers. This book is highly popular in our house. We have many of her books but this is by far our favorite. If you've got little ones---and not so little ones too---you cannot miss with a Sandra Boynton book. They are fun, creative, full of humor and great illustrations. I always buy 2 of each....one for each grandson. Always a big hit and the parents don't even mind reading them. This author knows kids and what catches their attention and imagination. Love these books.
I had a few Boynton books that I would read to my toddler. But after started walking and could pick the books herself, I found myself reading them over and over again. So I got this one and Happy Hippo, Angry Duck to add to her library. She loves both. And it's funny to hear her try to say the title when she picks it out. Sounds like "@$$ @$$ ants"
Barnyard dance is the perfect interactive book for a young toddler or child. When my daughters were small we always danced to the book's "instructions." .. "Bow to your partner..."Strut with the duck" my girls learned vocabulary such as strut and bow and we had a such good time! everytime. We even "read" the book to fiddle music. I can't say enough. be prepared for a great time! This is NOT a bedtime story.
